Winemaker's Comments
Washington State’s winegrowing region is ideally suited to maximize the full expression of Syrah. Spicy, rich, and complex, with soft tannins and bright acidity, our Columbia Valley Syrah is the perfect food pairing wine.
Tasting Notes
This full-bodied Syrah shows robust, fruit-forward aromas of blueberry, chocolate, thyme, and spice box accentuated with hints of violet, sage, and anise. Juicy, dark fruit flavors laced with spice reveal themselves on the velvety palate with an immensely pleasurable mouth-filling finish.
TOP AWARDS AND REVIEWS
92 PTS JamesSuckling.com, Claire Nesbitt - March 2025
Blueberries, dried herbs, plums and Sichuan peppercorns on the nose of this syrah-dominant GSM blend. It’s supple and full-bodied, with lovely soft tannins accompanying the succulent and spicy fruit. 78% Syrah, 18% Grenache and 4% Mourvedre. Drink now or hold.
92 PTS Northwest Wine Guide, Paul Gregutt - July 2025 A half dozen vineyards contribute to this blended Syrah, which includes 18% Grenache and 4% Mourvèdre. It’d clean and focused, with blackberry and black cherry fruit, coffee grounds, fresh turned soil and firm tannins. It gains concentration through the finish, ending on a highlight of bright fruit, toast and coffee.
90 PTS Decanter, Clive Pursehouse - March 2025 The aroma of leather and ripe fruits, along with a sweet tobacco tone, rises from the glass; the palate is sweet with ripe plums, Christmas spices and a full, robust finish of black fruits.
92 PTS OwenBargreen.com, Owen Bargreen - June 2025 At under 30 dollars SRP, the 2022 ‘Columbia Syrah is an outstanding value. The wine has a large amount of Grenache (18%) blended in, as well as a dash of Mourvedre. This comes off very fresh and beautifully textured, showing high-toned bright red fruits from the Grenache, as well as a solid core of black currants, tobacco leaf and damp rock on the palate. Enjoy now and over the next six plus years. Drink 2025-2032
90 PTS Jeb Dunnuck, Virginie Boone - July 2025 Full-bodied, the 2022 Syrah Columbia Valley comes from several stunning sites, including the producer’s estate Seven Hills. There’s 18% Grenache and 4% Mourvèdre. Smooth, well-balanced, and earthy, it has an herbal quality to the ripe red and black berry fruit, good structure, and approachability, finishing in baking spice and lavender. Enjoy through 2030.
90 PTS Wine Enthusiast, Michael Alberty - October 2025 Here’s a Syrah, with 18% Grenache and 4% Mourvèdre that would like to take you on a picnic. The journey begins with aromas of dusty blackberries picked roadside and notes of rose petals and pine wood. The flavors are a sweet combination of cherry pie, pie crust and Madagascar vanilla. I’d suggest breaking out the picnic blanket and heading to the great outdoors with this wine.
90 PTS Vinous, Eric Guido - October 2025 The 2022 Syrah Columbia Valley wafts up with a delicate blend of balsamic tinged blackberries and minty herbs. It is lifted and energetic, with mineral laced wild berry fruits cascading across the palate, while a bump of juicy acidity maintains energy throughout. The 2022 finishes spicy and long with tart berry saturation. This easy-drinking Syrah is hard not to like.

Some items are removed from original packaging, and placed in protective shipping containers to ensure safe delivery.
While most orders are shipped the day they are placed. The demand for limited supplies will occasionally deplete our stock of a paticular product, in this case it will generally take an additional 1 - 2 business days to receive the product and fufill the order.

In the event that we shipped an incorrect item, we may ask you to hold on to those items and the exsisting packaging so that we can arrange for a return pick up. Occasionally a chosen vintage of a wine may sell out or be replaced by a new release after your order is placed. Bottles of wine that are under $20, will not hold up an order and we will simply automatically substitute the wine with the comparable vintage. Please be assured that we will only substitute with a vintage for the same wine. Wine that is valued more than $20 per bottle, we will attempt to contact the customer. After two attempts, the available vintage will be automatically shipped out. (The return policy of $15 return shipping costs, and 15% restocking fee will be enforced.)
Yiannis Wine will not be held liable for damages to orders due to weather conditions during shipping. Potential exposure to extreme heat or cold may damage items during shipping. As we can not be held responsible for products damaged due to weather, we suggest you choose FedEx Express to ship your items and/or add ice packs to your order (during extreme heat) to help prevent damages. We can also place your orders on weather hold until weather conditions improve. Wine is usually fine if it is exposed to some heat (as that is the way wine is made.....Heated so the yeast is activated). If your wine is warm, please place them in a cool, dark room so the wine can "settle."
Most returns will be accepted, but ALL bottles must be returned to get credit. A half bottle or empty bottle of something that did not taste GOOD is fine to return, but the customer will not receive full credit if the bottle is not included.
