He would give his wife the first rose of each season as a proof of their love, which blossomed year by year.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eIsaias shared his knowledge and passion with his grandson, Rodrigo. In 1998, Rodrigo began studying oenology and planting vineyards. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Oenology and Fruit Horticulture in 2003. Combining his formal education, the knowledge from his grandfather, and his experience as a farm and vineyard manager at Finca Romero Soner during college, Rodrigo founded Viejo Isaias winery. The name and rose logo honor his grandfather \u0026amp; keep his legacy alive.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eRodrigo produced his first vintage in 2004. Today the winery produces 8,000 cases annually. They use 100% pump\/drip irrigation, as higher parcels don't receive flood irrigation. In 2019 they completed construction on a new winemaking building, which contains only barrels (no tanks).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eFrom the lowest parcels, with the deepest loam and clay. The coolest site with fastest draining.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eVibrantly red, with blue and purple glints. It has complex aromas of plum and ripe fruit, evoking dry fig.
