A typical Sangiovese, this Vino Nobile is elegant and well-structured, with a mature and smooth tannic texture that is helped by a medium acidity and completes the long finish.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe wines of Tenuta Valdipiatta are obtained exclusively from grapes grown in its own vineyards, which extend for approximately 30 hectares over the hills in the municipality of Montepulciano.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e80% of the vineyards is dedicated to the cultivation of Sangiovese, the traditional Tuscan variety, which in Montepulciano takes the local name of “Prugnolo Gentile”.\u003cbr\u003eLS\u003cbr\u003eCanaiolo Nero and Mammolo complete the range of typical grapes of the area, whereas Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Nero provide the basis for the Typical Geographical designated wines, which are produced side by side with the traditional production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Rosso di Montepulciano and Chianti.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAll the vineyards were renewed at the beginning of the 90’s, with the exception of two cru named Sanguineto and Vigna d’Alfiero planted at the beginning of the 70’s of the last century, for which only the bearing structures and the failed areas were replaced.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eGiulio Caporali bought Valdipiatta, founded in 1973, at the end of the 1980s and handed the running of it over to his daughter, Miriam in 2002.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe property comprises 40 hectares, of which 30 are under vine and planted primarily with 80% Sangiovese (also called Prugnolo Gentile in Montepulciano) and the rest Canaiolo and Mammolo.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eLocated at the heart of the Vino Nobile zone, Miriam brought in top Bordeaux oenologist, Eric Boissenot in 2010.
