The bouquet is pure and precise, wafting from the glass in a superb blend of black cherries, dark chocolate, a beautiful base of chalky soil tones, gamebird and just a touch of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and impressively sappy at the core, with great transparency and balance, fine-grained tannins and a long, vibrant and energetic finish. As such I would afford this three or four years in bottle.
