However, a hard freeze in\u003cbr\u003ethe early morning of May 18th could have spelled disaster. The\u003cbr\u003ewind machines in the vineyard did their job and saved the vintage.\u003cbr\u003eThe freeze was followed by a cool, early to mid-summer which\u003cbr\u003esignificantly slowed ripening. Shading from the smoke resulting from\u003cbr\u003ethe Canadian fires contributed to the cool conditions over the\u003cbr\u003esummer. All this culminated in a later harvest start and some classic\u003cbr\u003eFinger Lakes-styled wines. The still wines are fully textured and have\u003cbr\u003erich palate profiles.
