Small sour plums, orange peel and kumquats follow, all of this spicily grounded by fragrant bass of tobacco and mace. Roasted and salted hazelnuts, glazed yeast plait and a handful of dried fruit like apple rings and quince bread let the lips quickly purse towards the edge of the glass.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThere's no such thing as can't, as this bone-dry wine proves. Bone-dry Gewürztraminer with a bit of Pinot Gris that whistles like a guinea pig despite low acidity and the warm year. The aromas of the nose are self-evidently mirrored on the palate, plus the persistent tannin entry, reminiscent of green walnuts and the best Darjeeling.
