Each of these Russian River Valley Vineyards contribute their\u003cbr\u003eunique complexities to the final blend.\u003cbr\u003eThe BCD Vineyard consists of five distinct blocks within the vineyard with soils varying from\u003cbr\u003eHuichica clay loam to heavier clay being found in some of the lower lying portions of the\u003cbr\u003evineyard. Located in the town of Occidental, the Heintz Vineyard is located in the Green Valley\u003cbr\u003esub AVA and is planted to four distinct clones. The Swan and Pommard clones have\u003cbr\u003etraditionally provided a concentrated mouthfeel and earthy characteristics to the wines made\u003cbr\u003efrom the vineyard, while the 113 and Beringer clones bring more spice and tannic intensity to\u003cbr\u003ethe wines.\u003cbr\u003eThis wine is crafted using traditional Burgundian techniques, including fermentation in small\u003cbr\u003etanks, hand punch downs and aging in 60-gallon French oak barrels.
