The year saw consistent and moderate temperatures through the\u003cbr\u003egrowing season with a brief heat spike in mid June. The summer saw moderate temperatures\u003cbr\u003eoptimal for vine growth and fruit maturation. Warmer weather in late August and much of\u003cbr\u003eSeptember led us to a final warm spell the first week of October that pushed the fruit to perfect\u003cbr\u003eripeness. We picked the Cab blocks on October 7th and October 18th the Cabernet Franc was\u003cbr\u003eharvested October 7th. Crop size was below average giving the grapes nice flavor intensity and\u003cbr\u003econcentration. Overall a great year, just wish we had more of it to share.\u003cbr\u003eVarietal: 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc\u003cbr\u003eWinemaker: Brian Mox\u003cbr\u003eBarrel Aging: 21 months in Oak – 36% new: 100% French\u003cbr\u003eWinemaker Tasting Notes: The 2021 vintage was another beautiful Napa Valley vintage with a smaller\u003cbr\u003ecrop leading to more concentrated wines. Notes of Blackberry, cassis, vanilla, mocha, with\u003cbr\u003ehints of cedar and tobacco. The palate exhibits flavors of black cherry, plum, blackberry and\u003cbr\u003emocha. The wine is full with generous entry with sweet fruit. Slightly chewy tannins starting\u003cbr\u003eat mid palate and a nice balanced acidity leading to a long and lingering finish.The density of\u003cbr\u003ethe palate, the ripe fruit, and slightly savory profile make it an ideal pairing for grilled meats\u003cbr\u003eand hearty dishes.
