Blandy’s Madeira remains\ntotally dedicated to the traditions, care, and craftsmanship of Madeira Wine\nfor over 200 years.\nTHE WINEMAKING\nThe wine was aged in oak barrels for a total of 30+ years and started its own\naging program whereby the wine was gently heated by warm air in the lofts\nof the south-facing lodge in Funchal. Over the years the wine was\ntransferred om the top floor to the middle floor and eventually to the\nground floor where temperatures were cooled. The wine was regularly\nracked during the aging process and finally bottles when the desired balance\nof maturity was reached.\nTASTING NOTE\nAmber with golden reflections, bright crystalline. A characteristic bouquet,\nwith ethereal notes of brandy infusion with candied citrus uits,\nginger-like spices, and walnut-like dried uit. On the palate, the wine is\ndry, very esh, leaving a long finish of sweet bitter orange and old brandy.\nWINEMAKER\nFrancisco Albuquerque\nPROVENANCE \u0026amp; GRAPE\nVARIETAL\nSercial has a late ripening and is\nresistant to oidium and mildium.\nThe grape produces wines that\nrarely achieve more than 11%\nalcohol before fortification, and\nwhich are remarkably esh, and\npresent intense and vibrant\naromas. In Madeira, Sercial is\nalways used to produce dry wines.\nBOTTLED\n\nSTORAGE \u0026amp; SERVING\nThis wine should be stored upright\nin a dark room with constant\ntemperature, ideally no higher than\n60ºF.\nAs the wine is completely stabilized,\nit is recommended to pull the cork\nat least 2 day before enjoying this\nwine. Decanting will help remove\nany deposit that may have occurred\nin bottle over time.
