Blandy’s Madeira remains\ntotally dedicated to the traditions, care, and craftsmanship of Madeira Wine\nfor over 200 years.\nTHE WINEMAKING\nBlandy’s 2010 Verdelho Colheita was aged in seasoned American oak casks\nin the traditional ‘Canteiro’ system, whereby the wine is gently heated by\nwarm air in the lofts of the company’s south-facing lodge in Funchal. Over\nthe years the casks are transferred om the top floor to the middle floor\nand eventually to the ground floor where it is cooler. The wine is regularly\nracked during the ageing process and is finally bottled when the\ndesired balance of maturity is reached.\nTASTING NOTE\nTopaz with golden nuances, crystal clear. An intense bouquet of apple jelly,\nyellow uit chutney, aged brandy with hints of spice. The palate is medium\ndry and esh with saline notes, leaving a long and warm finish of candied\nuit and brandy.\n VERDELHO COLHEITA\nWINEMAKER\nFrancisco Albuquerque\nGRAPE VARIETAL\nThe Verdelho grape, some say, was\nthe most represented grape in\nMadeira during the 17th century\nand that it originates om the\nisland. The musts have moderate\nsweetness and acidity which result\nin medium-dry wines.\nBOTTLED\n\nSTORAGE \u0026amp; SERVING\nThis wine should be stored upright\nin a dark room with constant\ntemperature, ideally no higher than\n61ºF. As the wine is completely\nstabilized, it is recommended to pull\nthe cork at least 2 day before\nenjoying this wine.
